**July 27, 2010 SO MUCH CATCHING UP TO DO!! Hope you guys like the new layout of the site. So much has happened since the last time I updated this journal! Tom and I have formed a new partnership with our dear friend Daniel Jones (Savage Garden). We have been working our tails off writing, recording, mixing, etc. Hopefully we will have this first phase finished by the end of August. We are Korbee Jones and have found a really cool, unique sound that is so catchy, I dare you to have a listen to our stuff and not let it run around and around in your head:) It's been such a pleasure working with these guys. I have been so inspired and have loved the process!! To read/hear more about Korbee Jones, head to www.korbeejones.com. Today is my sister Melissa's golden birthday! A very special day:) I was so glad that we were able to celebrate with her down in Hilton Head, SC for a week! Not only were we celebrating her birthday, but her ENGAGEMENT!! I am so excited and happy for her and her now fiance, Eric. What an amazing thing to be a part of! It's wedding fever in my family. My brother and sister will be getting married next summer! Gonna be busy:) Anyway, enjoy. Thanks for all of your beautiful messages and support. It really means the world to me. I will try and keep you all updated on what's going on in my life. I start shooting "Judy Moody" in a couple of weeks. I am really looking forward to that! My first feature:) I LOVE IT! Talk soon... -J xx ______________________________________________________ **September 3, 2009 4 NEW TRACKS JUST ADDED TO MUSIC PAGE! I am so proud of how these songs turned out!! I can't thank Robb, Tom, Ross, Alan and Mike enough! It's always a little terrifying when you begin this process. I was so blessed to be surrounded by such incredible talents and warm hearts...they put so much of themselves into this project and for that I am forever grateful! I hope you guys dig these. I am so excited to share them with you:) I will definitely let you know when the tracks will be available for download. At this time, we will only be streaming them here at www.jennkorbee.com. I hope all of you are able to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather:) We are having the most gorgeous day here in LA! I have been missing this weather. Hope you enjoy the new layout. More stuff to come. The EP is coming along well. I promise you'll hear some new stuff soon. Thanks so much for all of the support!! Oh, and please make sure you vote for my good friend Adam who is still killing it on American Idol! He is such a wonderful guy and both Tom and I are rooting for him. Anyway, have a great Irish day and make sure you wear your green:) -J ______________________________________________________ **March 15, 2009 March Madness and EP updates... Today was a great day. I found out that Xavier will begin their NCAA tournament in the same bracket as Wisconsin! I have wished for years to see these two teams play eachother and now I just may have that chance. Each of them needs to win their first round and then the match up will be there. We'll see, I'm keeping my fingers crossed:) I am heading back to Phoenix this week to finish up the EP. It's sounding incredible! Working with Robb and Tom on this project has been so much fun and such a learning experience for me. Their creativity is so inspiring. I can't wait for you guys to hear it. I will continue journaling and videoing the process so you can see what it's like working on a project like this. It's amazing how much time and care goes into a short 3:30 minute song. I am loving every minute of it! Until next time...happy March Madness! -J ______________________________________________________ **February 13, 2008 American Idol... First off, I want to start by saying I am so appreciative of all of the support you all have given me through this crazyness! It was a long long process and even though I knew what the outcome would be the other night I am still as surprised as all of you are. The show this year has obviously been focused on the drama and not the voices. And to put an entire week's worth of work into one 8 second blurb of us doing a sing-off is what really shows me where the meat of this show is. It's the drama. I also found it interesting that until Tuesday night, my face had barely been shown and believe me that wasn't because our story was boring or because there was nothing to show, but because they didn't want you to invest in me. When they cut Tom, I remember thinking, what's the reason? He didn't forget a single word, and sang his face off. He was given none. I did find it interesting that I was, in the end, eliminated because of my lack of emotional connection to my songs during the week...but they never showed any of them so how could any of you have an opinion about it without seeing it. It was manipulative and just plain wrong. And in the end, that's what reality tv is right? I wish Kristen and all of the other contestants the best! We all became very close throughout this competition and I will continue to watch to see how they do. I don't regret this experience. I am not sad I did it. I hope that people will understand that I am a true artist...a songwriter, a performer, an actor, a storyteller. Never have I put my appearance in front of that and it's a shame that's all they saw in me. I will continue to put my heart and soul into everything I do. I will have new songs up very soon. Tom and I have been working on a lot of new material and it's great!! In the meantime, go to tomkorbee.com and listen carefully to the words of "Everything's Alright"...Tom wrote that for me about this experience. I am so lucky to have him as my partner through my life. He is my rock, my home and my greatest support. And again, you all have been such an amazing part of my journey through this weird business. On to the next challenge! I am looking forward to it:) Be well... -Jenn ______________________________________________________ **February 7, 2009 Happy Birthday to Motzie, my Idol & 4 NEW TRACKS ON TOMKORBEE.COM!! It seems the days I like writing are when it's rainy and cold outside. Maybe that's why I've never been very good at keeping this thing up to date...since we don't have many rainy days here in LA:) As I'm looking down at my past entry, I also realize it's another Saturday that is perfect for all of the things I listed before! But today is different in one way, it's Motzie"s birthday! And I wanted to make sure everyone knows he's turning the big 4-0 today!! I wish Tom & I could be back in Ohio celebrating with everyone but alas we will have to use cyber-technology to let him know we are thinking of him:) What did we do before Skype and Email and Facebook?? Write letters?! I should write more letters. Anyway, I did want to say thank you to all of you who have been sending us "Idol" greetings! Yes, by now you all know that both Tom and I auditioned for American Idol in New Jersey and got Golden Tickets to Hollywood!! We were the first married couple to ever make it to the Hollywood rounds! Keep watching to see how we fair through hell week:) We appreciate your support so much!! Speaking of your support, make sure you check out Tom's new songs he just posted to www.tomkorbee.com! They ROCK! I am heading into the studio in a couple of weeks and will be doing 3 tracks for myself. I will definitely let you know how they go. Until then, have a wonderful Saturday and I will write soon:) -Jenn ______________________________________________________ **January 24, 2009 Rain, Rain go away...or don't:) What a rainy, cold, beautiful day we are having here in Los Angeles. It's the perfect day for movies, college basketball, cleaning, grilled cheese and tomato soup! And it's a Saturday...how lucky am I? It's funny how the moment it begins to sprinkle here everyone in this town forgets how to drive...you would've thought yesterday was the ice storm of the century! I've never seen so many wrecks on the side of the road. And not minor fender benders, but cars up on the sides of railings, way down in the ditches...it surprises me every time! We got the final tracks back yesterday and I have to say I am so excited for you all to hear them. They are inspiring, uplifting, quirky, honest and have a new sound that I know you will all love! It's been such an amazing experience working with Tom and Robb on these songs. I can't wait to get in the studio to start recording my stuff! We've been working really hard and it's feeling like it's paying off:) Keep your eyes open, we'll have these new tracks available soon. I can't thank you all enough for all of your support! It means the world to both Tom and I. Happy Saturday! -Jenn:) ______________________________________________________ **January 10, 2009 Back in Phoenix...RECORDING!! Well, here we are again. Only this time we are recording 4 more songs for Tom's album!!! Already we've finished the drums and are just about done with the first one "Everything's Alright". All I can say is "chills!!". It's such a blast being back in the studio with Robb and Tom. The catch phrase of the day..."Hit Save!!!" ______________________________________________________ **January 1, 2009 Happy New Year! Hope this new year brings you all everything you've ever wanted and more! I have a good feeling about 2009. Hopefully one of these pots I've stuck my hand in will come up with a little gold in it:) Lots of love!! -Jenn ______________________________________________________ **December 2008 New Songs Posted on Wuthering Heights Site Two new songs were posted..."I Am the Man" and "Kiss the Moon"! We recorded these back in August but just a month ago they added the incredible talents of cello player Tina Guo. Tina added such an amazing new layer to these songs. She really brought them to life! Just beautiful:) ______________________________________________________ **November/December 2008 Happy Holidays!! As this year is drawing to an end it's only natural to look back and reflect on the past 12 months. It's amazing how fast they fly by especially since it feels like time doesn't pass here in LA. With my entire life having been lived in 4 seasons, I am still (after 4 years) getting used to the sun shining 365 days out of the year! Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. It's just different. It's been a year of change. In August I said goodbye to the world of "Hi-5" which had been a huge focus in my life since 2002. You can't imagine how much something becomes a part of you until it's gone. I'm definitely excited to move on and challenge myself in new ways and am so thankful for all of the wonderful experiences and people I came into contact with during the past 6 years. I can't thank the fans enough for sticking by all of us through all of the ups and downs. I am so thankful for all of you and hope we can continue to have a relationship even long after Hi-5 is off the air. I hope this holday season brings joy and peace to all of you. I am off to the midwest to play in the snow!! I never thought I'd be so excited to head to Wisconsin in a December where the amount of snowfall has broken all the records of all time!! That's a lot of snow:) ______________________________________________________ **September/October 2008 "American Son"/Writing, writing and more writing! Over the last couple of months Tom and I have been crazy busy travelling back and forth between LA and Phoenix to work with Producer Extraordinaire Robb Vallier on Tom's first radio ready single "American Son". The process couldn't have gone smoother. And during this election the song has such a special meaning to all of us! It's about us reclaiming our identity as Americans through some of the hardest times we've ever seen in our generation. I can't wait for all of you to hear it. And I can't wait to get back into the studio to get going on some new tunes for both Tom's and my albums!! On top of all of this, we've been writing, writing, writing and are coming up with some great new tunes! Hopefully very soon we'll have new demos for you all to hear. ______________________________________________________ **August 2008 Wuthering Heights Project I've been lucky enough to be involved in a really amazing project. Mark Ryan (some of you may know him as the voice of "Bumblebee" in the Transformers movies among many other things) created an amazing collection of songs based on Emily Bronte's "Wuthering Heights" and has asked me to sing the role of Cathy. Robb Vallier is producing all of the tracks and they are coming to life in an amazing way! We've recorded 6 songs and also filmed a music video for the song "Women". It's been such a wonderful thing to be a part of. Mark Ryan is so passionate and Robb Vallier is so talented and inspirational to work with. I can't wait to see where this project leads us. To hear the songs and see the video, go to www.wutheringheightsmusic.com.
